Just a note to let folks know that there is a new show on the Discovery
Channel (via cable) called "Classic Cars". There have been two so far.
Out here (northern CA.) it is on Tuesday nights at 10PM. I really
enjoyed the show last nightit focused on the "Car Jumble" (i.e.
swapmeet) held at Beully (sp?) in England.
---------------------
-Glad to hear others watched that show! My wife claimed I was the only one in
the US to see it. Isn't reassuring to people in other countries going bonkers over old cars like
we do? Here in Houston, we recently had the AutoRama. Unfortunately, most of the show
was given over to modified pickups and other automotive "sculpture" (i.e.
Chevy Belaires with chromed disk rotors, etc). What good is a car that can't
be driven? -if the car(s) was(were) in ISCA competition - a whole lot of money -
other people, like true antiquers, especially some with the gas burning
headlights, etc get a lot of pleasure showing the car and keeping a
part of automotive history alive I've been going to the World of Motorsports (opened for a week's run
in Santa Clara) the cars (stock, race, bonnevilles, rods, customs) are
almost all driven - you can see the paint chips, etc - they still look
great to me
