Unusual Antique Brunswick from Marge Schott estate.

A good buddy of mine has a billiards sales and service company in here in Cincinnati Ohio. His name is Dave Thompson of "Some Assembly Required". He's recently taken a table in on consignment to sell for a customer. It's an unusual antique Brunswick "Conqueror" 9 foot pool table similar to the one on Brunswick's webpage at the link below with the exception of the one in the picture is a 6 legged 10' table, the table Dave's selling is a 9' , four leg version. He's asked my advise on what the table is worth and how much in the way of restoration he should do on it. As I mentioned in the subject line, this table came out of the "Marge Schott estate. For those of you unfamiliar with "Marge", she was the owner of the Cincinnati Reds for quite a while til she was sort of ousted. She's quite a well known person in this area and I'm sure baseball fans everywhere have heard some of the tales of her escapades and statements! She's been somewhat controversial!

The table is in pretty good shape, but there are a few spots on the legs where the veneer is lifting and even missing in some small spots. It is an ornate table with a lot of marquetry. We were discussing the provenance and the condition of the table and wondering if anyone here has any idea of the value? If anyone here has any interest in the table. If the fact that it belong to someone who was sort of a celebrity had any bearing on the value?

---------------------

In my opinion, it is difficult to sell a pool table via ebay since shipping is a concern so selling it locally would make the best sense. I own two antique Brunswicks, a Regenia 4 legged that I shoot on and a 6 legged medalist that is currently stored and I also buy and sell antique brunswick stuff. The table shown would fetch about 6-7 K depending on the condition which I'd presume to be good and the willingness of a buyer. Maybe when I get a chance I'll call Dave and go by and see the table since I'm in the cinci area. Also, the provenance for this table isn't going to increase the saleability since Marg wasn't a well know billiards player, just a well know baseball team owner. Now, on the other hand if you know where I can get a Rambow owned by Willee Hoppe himself.
