 | Antique Disney Chandelier? Anyone have any info? |
|
|
.I saw a really cool item on Ebay yet I wonder if anyone
knows of any documentation of this piece? I've never seen this before
anywhere and I'm seriously interested in ithere's part of the
description:It is a full size, 15 pound metal chandelier that can easily hang from
any ceiling. And as you can see from the pictures below, it
beautifully shows off numerous early images of your favorite Disney
characters. (Watch the pictures change; there are six images that will
automatically appear while you watch!!!) Imagine seeing Mickey Mouse,
Minnie Mouse, Donald Duck, Mother Goose, Wolf and Pig, Clarabell Cow,
Horace Horsecollar, and Pluto in their early 1930's forms….a
wonderful, nostalgic rememberance of the exciting early days of
animation!
---------------------
He doesn't say it's an antique -- and he has no way of
knowing it's from the 1930s. He admits that it is
handmade (and anyone could have made it with those
shapes and forms). If it's a real Disney item, it should have appropriate
markings and copyrights on it (Disney licenses *everything*). Why does the auction not mention
that? (I think you should email him and ask what
copyrights are on it.) I doubt it's even close to a "real" Disney item -- and
think it has as much credibility as someone knitting a
Mickey Mouse stocking to hang on their mantle this
year. Just my opinion.but you'll notice that the auction
has been up for almost five days without any
bids. If this was a real item, I think people would be
fighting over it.
